How to convert PDF to Word

Choose the output that fits your document: editable text for revisions, OCR for scanned pages, or page images when appearance matters more than editing.

Choose your PDF files and enter a page range if you only need part of a document.
Select Editable text, Preserve layout or Scanned PDF / OCR. Adjust language, page size and formatting as needed.
Select Convert to Word, then download each DOCX or the ZIP. Open the result and review its formatting.

Editable text

For a PDF with selectable text, this mode rebuilds the text as Word paragraphs. Basic font sizes can be retained. Complex columns, tables, graphics and reading order may need manual cleanup.

Scanned PDF / OCR

Use OCR when the PDF contains scans rather than selectable text. English, Hindi, Telugu and Afrikaans are available, including mixed English options. Clear, upright printed text works best; review names, numbers and punctuation.

Preserve layout

Each selected PDF page becomes an image inside the Word document. This keeps the page appearance, but the words within the image are not editable. Choose an editable mode if you need to change the text.

Page and formatting controls

Select ranges such as 1, 3-5, 8. Keep source page sizes or choose A4 or Letter, then adjust orientation, margins, paragraph flow, fonts and page breaks. Batch files share the same settings.

Common questions

Can I convert a scanned PDF to an editable Word document?

Yes. Choose Scanned PDF / OCR and select the document language. Recognition produces editable text, but it may contain errors and will not reproduce complex page layouts. OCR is limited to 20 selected pages per PDF.

Will the Word document look exactly like the PDF?

Editable conversion can change formatting. Preserve layout uses page images to retain appearance, at the cost of editable text. These are separate options, so choose according to how you plan to use the result.

Can I convert a password-protected PDF?

For supported encrypted PDFs, enter the correct password under Advanced. This tool does not recover passwords. Only convert documents you can open.

Does this create DOC or DOCX files?

The output is modern DOCX, which can be opened in compatible Word processors. Legacy .doc output is not available.
