Good to know

Compression flattens each page into an image. Selectable text, links, forms and digital signatures are not retained. Some PDFs can become larger; check the result before replacing a file.

A PRACTICAL GUIDE

How to compress a PDF

This compressor is suited to visual copies of image-heavy PDFs. It flattens pages into images, so choose it only when editable or interactive content is not needed.

  1. Add a PDF and choose the pages to include.

  2. Start with the default resolution and JPG quality. Lower either setting for a smaller visual copy.

  3. Select Compress PDFs, then compare file size and readability before keeping the result.

Know what flattening removes

Selectable text, links, forms and digital signatures are not retained. Keep the original if you need searchable text, accessible document structure or valid signatures.

Smaller is not guaranteed

An already optimized PDF or a mostly text document can become larger when rasterized. Check the output size and keep the smaller suitable version.

Common questions

Can I compress a PDF without losing quality?

This tool uses image rendering and can lose detail. Higher quality and resolution retain more detail but increase size. It is not a lossless PDF optimizer.

What should I do if text looks blurry?

Increase the resolution or JPG quality and run the conversion again. If selectable text is important, use the original PDF instead of a flattened copy.
