Good to know

Use unencrypted PDFs up to 200 pages each. Digital signatures may be invalidated by page edits. Cropping hides content without removing it; visible signatures are not cryptographic. Review the output before use.

Compare the words in two PDFs

Identify pages whose selectable text differs. This tool checks words, not page appearance, graphics or spatial layout.

Add exactly two unencrypted PDF files, up to 100 pages each.
Put the older file first using the file arrows, then select Compare documents.
Read or download the text report. Review changed pages in the original PDFs before relying on a difference.

Scanned pages

A scan without a text layer may appear empty in this report. Use OCR or compare the page images manually when the PDFs are scanned.

What counts as a difference

The tool normalizes whitespace in extracted text and compares each page at the same position. Reordered pages, images, annotations and font changes are outside its scope.

Common questions

Will it highlight changes in the PDF itself?

No. It generates a separate TXT report listing the extracted text on changed pages.

Can it compare signatures or diagrams?

No. It reads the PDF text layer only. Inspect visual and signed content in an appropriate PDF viewer.
