Good to know

Use unencrypted PDFs up to 200 pages each. Digital signatures may be invalidated by page edits. Cropping hides content without removing it; visible signatures are not cryptographic. Review the output before use.

A PRACTICAL GUIDE

Number the pages of a PDF

Stamp page numbers at the bottom center of selected pages. Numbers reflect their position in the original PDF.

Choose an unencrypted PDF.
Leave the page field blank to number every page, or enter a range such as 3-8.
Select Add page numbers, download the result and check that the footer does not overlap existing content.

Existing page content

Numbers are placed 24 PDF points above the bottom edge. If a page already has a footer in that area, use another layout or edit the source document first.

Page numbering sequence

The first page is numbered 1. Selecting pages 3-8 writes 3 through 8, not a new sequence starting at 1.

Common questions

Can I pick a different position or style?

This version uses centered, dark page numbers at a fixed position. It does not offer custom typography.

Does the PDF keep its text?

Yes. The page number is added to the existing PDF page rather than rasterizing it.
